Foss Rainier Shipyard Opens its Doors During Construction for Sneak Peak of Ground-Breaking Vessel

Who: Foss Maritime Company invites interested members of the media to get a sneak peak of the world’s first Hybrid Tug while it is still in construction at its Rainier, Oregon shipyard.

When: August 26, 2008 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

What:
● Foss’ first Hybrid Tug combines batteries, generators and main engines to reduce pollution and offer greater fuel economy.
● The technology used is flexible and can be used to convert other standard tugs.
● The Hybrid Tug design was awarded the EPA’s Clean Air Excellence Award for Clean Air Technology earlier this year.

From I-5:
Take exit #40 / Kelso-Longview (WA-4 South) / Long Beach
Bear right on WA-431 (North Kelso Avenue)
Turn right on WA-4 (Cowlitz Way which turns into Washington Way)
Bear left on 15TH Avenue, which turns into Oregon Way (WA-433)
Continue on Lewis and Clark Bridge over Columbia River
Take ramp onto Eastbound Lower Columbia River Highway (US-30), go two miles
Turn left on East 4th Street
